The Ecosystem Machine

This is a cellular automata playground inspired by the work of Lu Wilson and Dave Ackley. The one above simply changes colors, the one below is an in-progress ecosystem. Today, it grows algea from rich loamy compost. The algea grows outword, and as it consumes all the nutrients in it's compost it dies to sterile white sand.
